Thank You, HGF Volunteers!

As a thank you to all those who have volunteered at HGF throughout the year, there will be an appreciation breakfast on Tuesday, June 9th.  It will be held in Mrs. Rivard's room from 9am-10am.  So, if you have made copies for teachers, worked at a bake sale or school store, assisted with PTA events or helped in other ways, please come enjoy breakfast on June 9th! 

Million Word Challenge

Don't forget that June 3rd is the last day to turn in reading charts for the Million Word Challenge!

Student that have met the challenge will recieve a book bag with a surprise inside on the following dates:
 - June 5th Grades K-2
 - June 12th Grades 3-5


(Please note that these are school-only assemblies because of time and space.)

Be sure your child(ren) turn their forms in on Wednesday the 3rd!

Box Tops Collection

With the school year coming to a close, please don't forget to turn in your Box Tops by June 17th!  You can also continue collecting all summer long, just download and print this form.

For the 2015-16 school year, we will be looking for a volunteer to be the Box Top Coordinator. This person should have excellent attention to detail and will be responsible for working with HGF and the PTA to coordinate box tops drives and incentive programs.If you are interested, please contact Stacey Weigler at saweigler@comcast.net.

Volunteer Opportunity: PTA Treasurer needed

Highland-Goffe's Falls PTA is looking for a dedicated volunteer to take on the role of Treasurer.  The responsibilities include maintaining the financial records of the organization and serving on the executive board.  This would be a one year committment to complete the term of the current Treasurer.  We appreciate your consideration.  If you are interested please email Stacey Weigler at saweigler@comcast.net!

HGF Field Day

We're gearing up for field day on Tuesday June 16th and need lots of volunteers to make it happen. Here are some important details to know:

Kindergarten – 3rd Grade will participate from 8:45 – 10:45

 The morning session will consist of fun games that the students played in physical education class throughout the school year.

 

4th & 5th Grade will participate from 12:15 – 2:15

The afternoon session will be a tournament style competition which will consist of games such as soccer, volleyball, basketball and a relay race.

Activities will be held on the field next to the school. Children should wear “gym” clothes and sneakers.  A water bottle, sun screen and bug spray are highly recommended.

Please note: In the event of rain, field day will be held on June 17, 2015

Kona Ice Food Drive

The food drive for Kona Ice is on again. Kona Ice will visit HGF on the 3rd of June.  This year they have promised to have two trucks serving, so it should go more smoothly for us.  

More Information will be sent home with the kiddos for an upgrade on the product they buy that day. Last year HGF received a total of $1,118.08 for bringing in the most food of all elementary schools in Manchester so we received 75% of our sales. I know we can do this again. The food donations go to the NH Food Bank. Let's do it again! 

 

Collection of food will begin on May 13, 2015.

 

Meeting Reminder

Reminder that there will be a PTA meeting this Wednesday the 20th at 6:30pm. We will be discussing various end of year topics, including field day.  All are welcome!

A Schwan's Fundraiser

We've launched "HGF PTA Schwan's Fundraiser", a fundraising campaign, and I need your help. Our goal is to raise $500 before June 4, 2015. We'll continue to earn 20% of all product purchases over the next year and our total goal is $1000.

Schwan's will give 20% of your product purchase and 40% of your eGift Card purchase (one per customer, per campaign) back to our campaign and you'll get great food for your friends and family! Support HGF by clicking on the following link.

Volunteers Needed - Book Party 5/14

Our Reading Specialist, Mrs. Rivard, is excited to announce that HGF is the recipient of a $5000 grant! This grant enabled HGF to purchase more than 1000 new books for the lending library that our teachers use.

The books need to be stamped and labeled; we are looking for some volunteers to help with this task after school. She will be hosting a "Book Party" after school Tuesday the 14th from 3-4pm. Please come if you!! The sooner the books are labelled the sooner our teachers can use them with our children.
